Nemesis:
1) Shadows of the past by cheb It is difficult to explain, but after viewing the remains the feeling of something fantastic. All of these things: music, dynamic, color correction, editing, atmosphere - all this makes this movie magical and fabulous.
2) chocolate by Oui The first thing I want to say - this is about transitions. This is really fresh creative idea. Excellent sync, good frags, atmospheric color correction. Amazing movie.
3) WIPEOUT I'm not a fan of CoD but I liked this movie. My favorite style of music, agressive and dynamic editing.
4) Siblife
5) Bliss
Mazarini:
1) shadows of the past Pro me jednoznacne vitez soutez, uz puvodni effekt kreslenych bilych hran byl naprosto uzasny, cele movie melo krasnou magickou atmosferu, skvele fragy, kamera, editing, prijemne barvy.
Toto movie u me vyhralo tymovou atmosferou kterou doplnovali skvela kamera, effekty a timing. Chybeli tomu napady a pokulhaval editing 7/10
5) timed death Ted uz slo do tuheho :D rozhodoval jsem si mezi: timed death/ev0/wipeout a we are still here Toto movie me zaujalo hudbou a timingem, cely movie bylo zpracovano nestandartne a jelikoz jsem fanouskem originality rozhodl jsem se priklonit k nemu. Neprekvapi ani neurazi 6/10 (//wipeout mel zajimavy strih, cely spad videa. ovsem nic noveho, hrozny texty //we are still here me prislo jako obycejny, nudny movie( obrovske zklamani po vynikajicim kousku we are cod2), hezky playerbar a timing ale nic vic //ev0 me zaujal spojenim cs a css ale neprinasi nic noveho po zadne jiny strance)
Slize:
1st place goes for cheb with 'Shadows of the Past' * That's in my oppinion the best movie in this competition . Really worth mentioning for it's unique style and atmosphear. Soundtrack is my cup of tea. I really do like chill songs along with interesting effects, sync and whole look of the video. Good post production , lens flares and other ripple effects. Everything was on the place ! Nice playerbar.
2nd place goes for Oui with 'Chocolate'. * The most impressive and worth mentioning in this movie are transitions. I suppose that all of you haven't seen such a beatiful work with map-transitions ever. Say goodbye to all 3d effects, which look like a ... shit. Great job to Oui for that, great idea. Again , song - really nice choice . Chill mood with some amazing frags . Colors could have been a bit different from your past works but that's not what only counts in movies yes? Nice sync and I haven't noticed any bigger mistakes in this movie .
3rd place goes for radio with 'WE ARE Still Here'* One of the best CoD2 movies I've ever seen. Pretty long movie but hey, it doesn't means that It has to be boring ! Good intro, nice transition from intro to fragpart. Great sync and frags. Music was neat, definatly my taste ! Unique playebar and I found some really eye-candy effects/moments in this movie. Well edited piece of Call of Duty 2! One of my fav CoD2 movies. I must admit once again: Amazing sync !
4rd place goes for Zajceff with 'Bliss' . * A guy from Poland , who isn't too famous but he gave us a good piece of art ( we can say that ) . I'm surprised with the result. Better than other CS 1.6 movies and from other games. Nice mood, song a bit overused but still well used. Some really cinematic free looks with lens flares. Interesting idea with small description to each frag. Good frags, well edited + decent sync. I found it really entertaining. I wasn't bored of typical mistakes - as we can see them in other movies in this contest.
5th place goes for Yogurt with 'Ev0'.* Really interesting idea with mixing two games in one movie. CS 1.6 and CSS. You've done quite good, no big mistakes at all. I must say that it was somehow creative ! Nice song - decent sync . I felt like I'm watching only fast cuts and frags. Couldn't find effects at all, give more attention on that in future. All in all dynamic movie. After watching other submission I've decided to put THIS movie in my top5.
Zaknafein:
1.eSuba - The LAN abuSers
2.Chocolate
3.Bliss
4.Shadows of the Past
5.WE ARE Still Here
"Timed Death" After an intro, which clearly has never been at the schoolbench in an English class, the movie starts of with a nicely synced song. The editor has put a lot of effort into syncing the movie to every highlight in the song, something he pulls of very nicely. However, in the first song it got a bit repetitive as the main beats of the song were practically always synced to gunshots and not much else. Also, even though it was synced, there were several gunshots that missed the target, often many in a row. These were synced, but pointless. The second song was better as it was synced to the beat and not just the peaks. It had a nice flow, though I felt the chasecams were a bit overused at times. There were also a few really nice transitions, and in overall this movie was a cool experience.
"WE ARE Still Here" After an intro, which has seen better days, and better grammar, the editor takes us right into the action, and that is what this movie is all about. The frags in this movie are awesome, and some are just insane. It is entertaining to watch these players wreck mayhem upon the other team, so content-wise this movie is top-notch. As for music, the editor has used the songs really well. The frags are synced to the music without being too repetitive or "oversynced", and the music, frags, and igs go well together. The actual choice of music could perhaps have been better as many of the songs were kind of passive; The frags stole the highlights so you were not carried away by the music. The transitions between songs were also very standard with a simple fade out, fade to black, fade in thing. Choosing Linkin Park in the end was probably not the best idea either. Still, this movie is very entertaining, first and foremost because of the frags. There aren't many effects, but the movie doesn't need it because this is a straight-forward fragmovie, and you will be entertained by the frags.
"Wipeout" Wipeout is nicely edited and put together as a fast-paced action movie. The frags are rather good and synced to the music. Sometimes the editing was a bit fast and there was too much motion blur, making it confusing to watch. The grenade-throw-scene started out nice, but it was a bit disappointing to have the camera follow the grenade and then NOT see where it lands. This movie is a fast and strong, but there isn't much you haven't seen before.
"Say_wtf Dota Movie" I have to give the editor of "Say_wtf" some credit for having the balls to enter a Dota movie into a competition largely dominated by fps games. That aside, there isn't much good to say about this movie. Some of the tricks and battles were fun to watch and I think the title "say wtf!" was well chosen, because I actually said "wtf" a few times watching this. However, there isn't any ingame sound, the music isn't synced much, the effects and transitions were mostly annoying, and the intro was very cheesy. The players in the movie were obviously not English so there were a lot of text which didn't make any sense for someone who didn't speak the language. A final "wtf" came out of me when this movie presented the fastest outro I have ever seen. It was pratically just some flashing text which you had no chance to read. If you are into Dota, this movie could be worth watching for content, but if not then save yourself 11 minutes and don't watch this one.
"World National Teams - Blood shot" First of, I don't understand why this movie is called "World National Teams" when it is about a few famous players and not their teams, and almost every player was Danish or Swedish. The playerbar was also way too distracting, even though it looked nice. The frags themselves were mostly good, but some were really not special, like the few 1-kills here and there. The editor had some good, albeit not original, ideas that he couldn't pull of. Most of the transitions look terrible, and the camera movements were not rugged and overused. I like that the movie tried to focus on atmosphere rather than sync, but unfortunately the editor does not manage to pull this off, and the song is a bit too Pop for a CS movie anyway. Nice try, but no cigar.
"The RCZ tour" This movie is about the player rcz, and if you don't know who he is then this movie can be a bit weird to watch as there are lots of commentaries and random pictures popping up. However, the movie is nicely edited with some cool transitions, nice camera moves, and a decent 3D bullet. The opening was very good, even though the first few sound effects were horrible. It was fun to listen to voice-overs, though sometimes the voices were a bit loud and sharp. The frags themselves were for the most part pretty good. All in all a nicely edited story. "Pojdme na pandu!" Everyone loves Pandas, right? Well, this movie has lots of them. In fact the lower bar in the screen are all pandas, which is cute but you get distracted because of the space they take up. As for the movie itself, it had some interesting battles, but no ingame sound. The music was good, but it is old and heavily overused, except for maybe one of the songs. The editor tried to put a little effort into syncing, but didn't put it of really well, but then again it's very hard to sync strategy movies. The outro was funny. All in all an okay panda movie.
"Gamemix" Gamemix is what I call a multi-game movie, meaning there is footage from multiple games. Don't be fooled though, this movie is pratically empty content-wise as most of the footage looks more like it is from some sort of game trailer. In the beginning of the movie I thought the editor was introducing which games he was going to show in the movie, but he wasn't. It was just some random footage from one game to another. In the end there were some irl footage of CS players, but it doesn't explain who the people are or why they are shown. This movie lacks original ideas and is really nothing more than a trailer highlight reel, which is not suited for a gaming competition. Although the genre was refreshing, I couldn't stop myself from thinking "what was the point?". If you want to watch a real multi-game movie, watch MGP2.
"Final Destiny" Final Destiny is a decent CS movie. The frags are pretty good, but they are compressed into this fast-paced action movie. Sometimes they happen so fast that you barely have time to breathe between shots. This is illustrated by the fragpart:intro/outro ration, where the fragpart is barely 2 minutes long while intro and outro combined are about 1:30 minutes. Still, most of the frags were good, and there was emphasis on the ingame sound rather than the music, which created an intense experience. I should note that I'm getting a bit tired of seeing Slize's deagle frag everywhere, though. The playerbar was a bit annoying because the text was bad and the flag was too big. It wasn't really distracting, just bad, and it amazes me how hard it is for people to create a good playerbar. All in all an okay CS movie. "Bennets Blitzkrieg" Bennets Blitzkrieg is unusual in the sense that the editor has chosen to use two theme songs from the show "House M.D."...and then loop the songs for 6 minutes. Believe me, this gets really, really boring. The ingame sound is also quite low, so that doesn't help. Some of the frags are good, but some are really bad as well, like a pretty standard 2-kill usp which the editor felt he had to replay with a camera move. There were one or two nice effects, like the wireframe thing, but most effects felt random. Although slow-paced movies can work, this one doesn't. For a slow-paced movie to work you need a good, atmospheric song, and not some extended version of a TV theme, it just gets dreadful to watch and listen to after a while. I had to laugh at the outro, though, because it was so funny, even though it is completely out of place.
"Bulletproof" The opening of Bulletproof is pretty good, but a bit deceptive. It states "starring players from six countries", but honestly most of the frags are by Polish players. It could just as well have been "Polish players feat. a few other guys". The frags in the movie are really good, but many of them have been used before, sometimes many times before. I recognize several frags that were in movies like "The Pink Panther". The playerbar is okay; It could have been a little less eyecatchy, but it's not that bad. The editing in the movie is decent, and I felt the cutting was pretty good. There were a few random effects, I felt, but for the most part there isn't much bad to say about the editing, except that it wasn't really anything special, either. The music choice was good, but the mixing was a bit weird because the transitions sounded kind of sudden and strange. "Killed Brother" I have to salute the editors of this movie for picking an unusual game, Assassin's Creed, to use for their machinima. Unfortunately, they don't pull it of very well. The movie is about a man called Altharius...yeah...whose brother died and he is now seeking revenge. Instead of editing this story like a movie, it's just a whole bunch of clips from the Assassin's Creed game combined with text at the top of the screen telling the story. Voice-over storytelling would have been way better. The text is also filled with bad grammar and it's hard to grasp the story. All in all the movie tries to tell a story, but doesn't do it very well and it gets very boring to watch. It feels like watching someone play the actual game and just making up some random story as we go along.
"Ev0" Ev0 is interesting because it combines frags from both CSS and CS. That's not new in itself, but I think the combination worked pretty good. The transitions between the games weren't too obvious so I never felt like I was watching two movies mixed together, which is good. The music choice is okay, and the frags are synced rather well, but the absence of ingame sound in some of the clips made the movie confusing to watch a few times. There were a few frags that I didn't even register because they happened so fast and I was expecting a gunshot, but it never came. The frags themselves were okay, but nothing special except for a few frags which were really good. The editing was really good in the beginning, but for the rest of the movie it was decent, but sometimes it went too fast and too "up and down" and I felt it was unnecessary. All in all, though, I liked watching this movie.
"Bliss" The editor of "Bliss" was bold enough to use the Syntax song of the same name in this movie, which automatically means that the soundtrack is awesome. However, the general rule is to not use epic songs like that unless you know how to use it. Did this movie do that? Well...yeah, I think so. The intro is nice, and even though the text is filled with bad grammar I understand what the editors are trying to say. The frags that follow are very good, though most of the best frags I have seen so many times before. As for editing I felt it was really good, for the most part. The transitions were nice, the effects were okay and not too much in the way, and the camera moves were pretty good. I didn't like the flashing symbols that kept popping up, and I really didn't see the point in describing the frags in the playerbar. Overall, "Bliss" took a risk using such an epic song as "Syntax - Bliss", but I felt that all in all the editor did a good job and I really enjoyed watching the movie.
"Unknown 0.2" Although "Unknown 0.2" isn't the best title for this movie (because I automatically think of the "Unknown" CS movies), it is still a great movie. The intro is okay, but it's not too long and it introduces the players. The fragpart that follows is great. The frags themselves are not the best, but they are good enough, and they are beautifully synced to a refreshing soundtrack. There is no ingame sound, but this movie works well enough without is because it establishes a great and relaxing atmosphere with the song of choice. I really enjoyed watching it, although I felt the ending came too sudden, as if the editor forgot to fade out the song or something. The outro had some really funny bloopers too. "Siblife" Apparently Siberia has a gaming community. Who would have thought? Players from the community are presented in the movie
"Siblife", which is quite well made. The songs are nicely synced, although the second fragpart had some background vocals which were really annoying. The frags are presented in a fast-paced, actionpacked way, and the frags themselves are really good. I think the ingame sound could have been a little higher, and I'm starting to get tired of movies with great songs, but no vocals. All in all, this movie was well made and entertaining.
"Shadows of the Past" "Shadows of the Past" establishes a nice atmosphere with an unusual, but interesting song. The overall flow the song and editing creates is very entertaining and relaxing, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie. It had flow, frags, music and editing. The frags were really good and the camera moves that sometimes accompanied it were nice and short without overdoing it, which is so easy to screw up these days. The colors used were rather nice, especially the emphasis on orange. Although I really doubt I would have liked this movie had it been 10 minutes long, I really did enjoy the 3 minutes it lasted.
"pLd - HEADHUNTER(z)" The pLd movie starts with an effectbomb intro which is probably designed to make you develop braincancer because the camera was shaking all over the place. After the intro the fragpart begins, but the first fragpart was really short and ended with a sudden fade-to-black, which confused me because I felt like it was a second intro or something. The second fragpart was better and it had a better song. The frags were pretty good, and they were presented in a straightforward fashion, which I like because you get to see what the player sees without all the fast-forwarding and fast-cut editing which can be confusing if done the wrong way. There isn't much to say about the editing, which was average, though at about halfway into the movie there was a trippy, watery effect that came out of nowhere and made no sense. All in all this is an okay movie. There is nothing special about it, but I liked how the frags were presented because it felt more real and not rushed. Had the igs been louder it would have been way better.
"Naughty Players" This COD2 movie is really good, with good frags and nice editing. The colors, text and graphics in the intro are all pretty smooth. The frags that follows are good, although sometimes the editing was a bit fast because of sync, so a few frags were easy to miss. For the most part, though, the movie had a nice pace, and the frags were really well synced with the highlights in the songs. Editing-wise it was okay, though the shaky camera effect was used too much and it got a bit annoying. All in all a great COD2 movie.
"Broken promises" The introduction for "Broken Promises" was quite standard, but the fragpart that followed was much better. The song was pretty good and suited the action sequences, and it was also nicely synced, especially the highlights. The frags themselves were pretty good and although there were some fast cutting here and there, most of them were shown in a fairly straightforward manner which gives the viewer time to breathe between frags. As for editing, there weren't many effects, but the flow in the fragpart was pretty good and there were some really nice transitions. I would have preferred a bit less camera zooming, though.
"Chocolate" "Chocolate" is unique because it shows creativity by creating custom map transitions, which is very rare. The overall experience when watching it is dark and gloomy, but enjoyable. The song that plays throughout the movie sets the dark mood immediately, and at first the song fits really well, but after a while it sort of falls into the background because it is a very passive song. The frags presented in the movie are very good, although there is no ingame sound. Sometimes there are sound effects instead, which didn't work very well in most cases, I think. The thing that takes the cake with this movie are the original transitions where the player goes through otherwise inaccesable doors to go to another location. This editing technique was very interesting, but if you take the transitions out of the equation there isn't that much special about the movie. Overall though, it is a unique and original experience, and you should watch it.
"Gods of Dota" This Dota movie is more fun to watch than most regular Dota movies because more effort has been put into the presentation of the movie. The intro is really nice with the camera flying low, taking you into the world of...warcraft? The outro is something similar, and it's fun to watch when you are used to the standard, straight forward Dota mayhem battles. The battles are pretty good, though I've seen better, and they are presented in an interesting way. Whenever a clip is shown there is a playerbar which shows you what the highlight of the clip is. This is a double-edged blade because having this bar automatically makes you look for that particular unit, which isn't always on the screen at the time. It is also confusing that sometimes you think the highlighted unit is the hero, but it's actually the enemy. For non-Dota players the highlight bar won't help because they won't be able to recognize the units based on the avatars. As for editing, this movie stands out from other Dota movies again, because there is actually some music sync during the battlescenes. There isn't much, but there is some, and there are a few nice transitions as well, like the audiowave transition. All in all a very good Dota movie. Content-wise it's not the best, but when it comes to editing, this is the best Dota movie in the IP competition.
"Ambik - Push the Tempo" Ambik is a COD1 player, and this movie is about him. Presumably he chose to call it "Push the Tempo" because of the Fatboy Slim song in the start. The intro of this movie is pretty standard and nothing special, but at least it's short. The first fragpart, of two, is pretty good. The music is alright, and it's been synced rather well. There is ingame sound and some really good frags. There aren't any effects, really, so it gets a bit repetitive after a while, but still good. The second fragpart is much like the first, except this one has a few nice transitions, and that's about as far as this movie goes effect-wise, which means that the frags are presented in a pretty straightforward way. This is often good because the movie emphasises frags and not effects, though this can get repetitive without any original ideas. All in all this COD movie is pretty good and a fun experience.
"eSuba - The LAN abuSers" eSuba is a Czech CS team who is featured in this movie, showing how they fought their way through two European LANs. The intro is very good with some really nice map transitions. It introduces the players with some nice, clean effects, although the end of the intro was a bit clichč with the whole "powerful than ever" clan thingy. The first fragpart shows how eSuba won the BattleZone Challenge in Prague. The frags are not that special, but this is a highlight movie from LANs so you can't really expect anything epic. The music choice is a bit bad as the technosong is a bit annoying, BUT it has been used very well. The action is synced, and there are many nice effects. The editor, Resident, has learned that visual effects are there to aid the movie, which is great because this movie has lots of effects and none of them are in the way of the viewer. I really like the more original map effects like doorkicking, exploding door and tumbling boxes. The second fragpart is pretty much the same style as the first except that the music choice is better here. The outro at the end could have been a bit shorter, and with a more atmospheric song. "eSuba - The LAN abuSers" is a really good clan movie, showing how the clan won two LANs. It is presented with nice, clean editing, including several good effects, all mixed well together with the soundtrack, which perhaps could have been better chosen.
"The GOT LIKE movie" This movie seems like the result of someone who wants to vent some anger or something, because this movie was mostly about someone shouting really loud and killing people. The intro is very clichč and there isn't anything worth mentioning about it except that the bullet effect was okay. After the intro comes the fragpart, and the frags are accompanied by this really heavy song which is a bit painful to listen to. The song is synced, but too strong. The frags, however, are pretty good and there isn't anything bad to say about the content of the movie. When it comes to editing, the editor should slow down a bit. There were many effects, most of which didn't need to be there and seemed either very random or overused. Sometimes there were slow motion sequences where the song's volume was turned way down, something which felt very out of place despite the horrible tune. In overall, this movie is alright if you don't mind listening to angry music.

| | Nevim no. Porota to asi mela dost tezke. A podle me spise proto, ze zadne movi nebylo "Waaau". Proste me pripadaly vsechny takove nejake nemastne neslane.
